IPA Trust

Building for the Future – Launching the

 IPA Trust.

An IPA Trust Fund has been discussed by groups of members for many years as a way of funding special projects and of working toward a more secure financial base.

On its 50th anniversary the IPA Trust was launched.

Purpose:

The IPA Trust will support the basic purpose of IPA: to protect, preserve and promote the child’s right to play as a fundamental human right.

Specific aims as outlined in the Trust Deed, are to advance knowledge and raise awareness of children’s right to play and to provide assistance to facilitate international playwork exchange activities.  An important component will be the careful recording of multicultural experiences gained by participants through this exchange programme.  These will gradually build a rich source of information accessible to all IPA members.

Founding Trustees of The IPA Trust:

  • David Yearley, UK (Chair)
  • Tom Jambor, USA
  • Valerie Fronczek, Canada
  • Kathy Wong, Hong Kong
  • Anna-Marie Millbank, UK

The Launch:

The call for support of the Fund received excellent response.  It was heartening to see the support of so many, and with such generosity. Thank you to all IPA-ers

who contributed at the Triennial Conference in various ways, and to those absent members who showed their support for this exciting new venture for IPA.

The foundation of the IPA Trust has begun through the Building Block Programme.  Special recognition will be given to individuals or groups who donate via this program during the first year (July 2011- July 2012).
